One more off my lust list - Finn

Just bought a rifle I've been off and on looking for for years, a Finnish Mosin Nagant M28/76 7.62x54R 28". It's a Finnish military marksmanship rifle from after 1976. It's based on the Finnish M28/30 from prior to WW2. Like all Finn Mosin parts of it are older than methuselah.

Nice! I hope you're planning on bringing it next weekend.

I don't know if it'll be here in time. I want to shoot the CZ Redhead. Haven't had range time.

Ah, I know the feeling. I've had to wait a whole two weeks to shoot new carbine. The struggle is real.

It caused me to look at the google search and went from link to link till I finally ended up on you tube looking at "bad ass Finns". Thanks Sika I wasted the morning away.
:roflmao: What did pull up, some Finn porn! :roflmao: I've had my eye out for one of these for years. Money and rifle never seemed to meet. Now it did. I may buy one more M39, but then I'm done buying Finn Mosins. Next up and hopefully as soon as I figure out Catalyst's instructions a CMP Garand. I hear they are almost as good as a Finn Mosin!

The thing that always attracted me to this rifle is that it very much looks like an old biathlon rifle. Two rails for whatever sling or attachments was used with these. I've no personal knowledge if the Finnish army ever used these in such a capacity, but I do know it was used in their competitions and training. The very first time I saw an article on these rifles was in the early 1980's, I was visiting my grandparents. The rifle was introduced in 1976. I've wanted one since then.

Not yet. I will eventually get dies. Hmmmm....interesting idea on the shooting jacket.

I did. Always knew them through pics and articles on the internet. Never touched one in real life. Wouldn't likely be able to scrounge the money they command in any case so... too bad you live so far away.

That aluminum rail on the left side of the stock is for a shooting sling to clip into. Get a jacket with a pad where that particular sling will hit your arm.
