Fighting the Hun in Oregon with a new M1917

1
Bought a Eddystone M1917 on Saturday for my collection of metallic cartridge US issue rifles. The interwebs has it at a January 1918 manufacture date and the barrel is marked December 1917. This baby just turned 100 and I'm guessing it deployed over to Europe to defend democracy.

I took it out to the range today to give it a shoot after cleaning out years of gunk from the barrel and action, this rifle had sat for a long while (there was even a spiderweb in there). Everything worked out and it was a nice 75 degree day to contrast the 90s we'd had all week.

There was a stiff breeze from left to right and I don't know if the rifle shoots right or the wind was messing with things. But this rifle definitely has a stiff recoil and was not the easiest to shoot from the bench, I need to make some sandbags to shoot from. This was 20 rounds at 50 yards, not as good as my groups with my Swedish Mauser by any stretch but at least it hits where I'm pointing.
