Good to see the Dems preparing for losses in yet another election cycle. Getting some people into elected seats and making positive changes would be nice, but we shouldn't lose sight of what's important: consistency. And if failing to encite passion in voters is where that consistency must be found, then dammit, that's just a sacrafice the party will have to make.

The leadership of both parties are all neoliberals. Some oppose guns. Some oppose abortion. Some prefer white supremacy. Some prefer multiculturalism. Some fear gays. Some fear that every citizen votes. And so on. I claim a majority of the congressional leadership are more concerned with filtering money up and deregulating the rest than with civil rights.

I think taking gerrymandering out of the mix would be a good thing. California tries this:
