Rick Scott claims voter fraud orders lawsuit against recount.

Shades of 2000
Seems Rick Scott is worried about becoming unemployed. The race for the senate is so close the law requires a recount of the ballots. Well Boward County is slowly counting all the absentee ballots and Scotts opponent, Sen. Bil Nelson, is slowly gaining in the count. This has Scott freaking out. So now he is claiming Voter Fraud Based on a rightwing conspiracy theory put forth by Macro Rubio.
Florida governor Rick Scott is launching a lawsuit based on the claim first floated by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) that Democrats are trying to “steal” the state’s election.

“No ragtime group of liberal activists or lawyers from DC will be allowed to steal this election from the voters in this great state,” Scott said in a press conference where he announced his voter fraud lawsuit against Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes for the county’s slow-going absentee ballot counting.

“Every Floridian should be concerned there may be rampant fraud happening in Palm Beach and Broward counties,” the governor and Senate candidate said.

Earlier in the day, Rubio tweeted multiple times that Broward County was attempting to commit voter fraud as the county’s vote-counting efforts reached the 48-hour mark.

At one point, the junior senator from Florida suggested the county was breaking the law because it did not submit its ballots “within 30 minutes after polls close. As Daniel Sweeney of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel noted, however, unofficial returns are required to be submitted by noon of the fourth day after the election, which would be on Saturday.

Scott's claims echo a conspiracy theory voiced earlier today by Sen. Marco Rubio.

To clarify, the recount is not some sort of liberal conspiracy, it is required by state law. And neither Scott nor any of his supporters have furnished evidence there is anything untoward about making sure every single outstanding ballot in Broward County is tabulated.

But Scott wasn't done playing the victim. He soon appeared on "Hannity", where the eponymous Fox News host took it even further and called for arresting people for holding a recount.

"I've never seen anything like this in my life," Hannity told him. "It is obviously corrupt, obviously laws were broken, obviously there are shenanigans here ... the people of Florida deserve their just vote, which they got, and you won this race hands down. And this is a disgrace, that they get to do this. Election in, election out. Somebody needs to go to jail here, if this keeps happening."
Agent Orange Stain had to chime in
Law Enforcement is looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach. Florida voted for Rick Scott! -Donald J. Trump
I can truthfully say when it comes to fraud Rick Scott sure knows a lot about it.

It would be nice to have another Dem in the senate.

This from the guy who pleaded the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination 75 times for Medicaid fraud.

He's a snake and really, really scary. Vicious and unprincipled. He and his fellow pals made a point of not allowing non-violent felons who had served their sentence wait years and then jump through hoops before totally capriciously deciding who could, again, vote. One always asked "Do you go to church?" which is, of course, unconstitutional. Of COURSE he wouldn't want this new ballot initiative to pass because he'd never get elected again.

Like Richard Scrushy, founder of HealthSouth, but smart enough to stay out of jail. Unlike Scrushy who spent several years in prison for felony bribery.

Because to shit-stains like Rick Scott, Scott Walker, and the Orange one, it's ALWAYS a fraud when Democrats are allowed to vote, especially if they aren't, well, you know, White.

Rick Scott has always been a poisonous snake, even too poisonous for the Frists and HCA, so they fired him and split his portion, Columbia Health, off from HCA, so Columbia HCA has been back as HCA for at least 10 years. And despite being (supposed) health care expert, in 8 years he was totally ineffective at fixing health care in Florida.

Then we find out about possible more mail in ballots not delivered by the postal system.
An anonymous tip led to the discovery of “scores” of absentee ballots in a mail distribution facility that pipe bombs traveled through — after Miami-Dade County announced it finalized its vote counts for the 2018 midterms.

The Miami New Times reported that the Opa-locka mail distribution center was evacuated in October after Trump megafan Cesar Sayoc allegedly sent pipe bombs that passed through the facility.

That same center reportedly is still home to a huge number of uncounted mail-in ballots. Two sources that spoke to the New Times estimated the total could be in the hundreds or thousands.

Local activists demonstrated outside the mail facility and at the Miami-Dade County Elections Department over the uncounted ballots — but according to an official with the Elections Department, the ballots are now invalid.

Spokesperson Suzy Trutie said the office is aware of the ballots but according to its reading of state law, mail-in ballots not delivered to the department by 7 pm on Election Day “could not be counted toward the 2018 total.”

“Not everybody mailed back in time,” Trutie told the New Times. When asked if the ballots “had been sitting inside the Opa-locka center undelivered on Election Day — or when the place was evacuated,” the spokesperson referred the newspaper to the U.S. Postal Service.

The report went on to note that a reporter with a local CBS affiliate reached out to the USPS about the ballots and was told the department has “no information to suggest any ballots were not properly handled and provided to local election officials” per its “established process.”

It is Deja Vu all over again as the great Yogi would say.
Eighteen years after the notorious “Brooks Brothers Riot” by GOP operatives during the 2000 Florida recount, a rogues gallery of far-right conspiracy theorists are descending upon the Sunshine State, The Daily Beast reports.

“A loose coalition of fringe right-wing personalities, local political activists and associates of longtime GOP trickster and Donald Trump adviser Roger Stone descended upon the Broward County Board of Elections Friday in order to protest the high-stakes recounting of the U.S. senate race between Republican Rick Scott and Democrat Bill Nelson,” The Beast reported.

Included are right-wing activist Laura Loomer and former InfoWars personality Joe Biggs.

“Ali Alexander, a pro-Trump figure who runs a PAC bankrolled by the billionaire Mercer family, claimed that he would recruit both believers in the ludicrous QAnon conspiracy theory and homeless people to picket the Board of Elections,” The Beast noted. “The Republican protest outside the board of elections was organized by Juan Fiol, a former Trump campaign volunteer who has been photographed with Stone, according to the Miami New Times. The crowd included members of the far-right Proud Boys, an all-male collection of ‘Western Chauvinists’ whose members have doubled as bodyguards for Stone in the past.”

Roger Stone claims that the current efforts by his friends are “in no way analogous” to the infamous “Brooks Brothers Riot” in 2000.

“The protests drew parallels to the infamous Brooks Brother riots during the 2000 presidential vote recount, in which a group of young Republican operatives led by Stone, according to Stone, violently protested the manner in which ballots were being counted in the Miami-Dade County polling headquarters and spooked recount officials into pausing to the process, bringing George W. Bush one significant step closer to claiming the presidency,” The Beast recalled.

Many of those who participated in the “Brooks Brothers Riot” prospered in GOP circles following their participation. For instance, Matt Schlapp is the current chair of the right-wing lobbying organization American Conservative Union and is married to Mercedes Schlapp, the White House Director of Strategic Communications.

This dynamic may create a financial and career incentive for current participants.

I still say interfering in an election by voter suppression, denying someone the legal right to vote or interfering with the vote count or altering the legal count should require jail time and loss of the convicted person right to vote.

I think it should be one of the few ways to be disenfranchised.

Florida and Georgia white male rethuglicans have been trying to build a dam against the browning and Democrat-ing of the population for decades, by using the modern Jim Crow of voter suppression, and the age-old Jim Crow of a felony conviction, no matter what, costs you your right to vote.

As one commenting pundit put it, Brian Kemp is like the head of the Lottery Commission, claiming HE won the Lottery, and won't show anyone his winning Lottery ticket!

So far, the FBI and the Florida bureau of investigations, despite being told there is vote stealing and fraud going on in Florida by the Orange Shit-stain and the Venomous Snake, have found ZERO evidence of it.

The Broward County elections commissioner, whom the Rethugs, aided by the racist Proud Boys has 2 strikes against her with the shit-stain.

She's Black, and she's a woman.

So is Stacey Abrams. She's Black. She's a woman. And, Horrors! she's OVERWEIGHT!! :sarcasm:

According to the Shit stain, this outstanding Yale Law graduate (like one "Brett Kavanaugh") is "unqualified" to be governor!
