Trump pauses his immigration speech to order around Lindsey Graham

#1 Post by TrueTexan » Thu May 16, 2019 5:02 pm

President Donald Trump introduced an immigration proposal in the Rose Garden Thursday, but took a moment out to instruct Sen. Lindsey Graham to get it done today.

“And I know a number of our Republican friends and others — Lindsey, I see you sitting right there and Steve, you’re working on a plan, an immediate plan, a smaller plan but a very immediate plan to stop it as of this afternoon,” Trump told the audience, pausing his speech.

“So, as fast as you can get something done,” Trump told Graham, who sat nodding like a bobble-head. “This is the big, beautiful, bold plan, but we need something very quickly, and if you can get it done, that would be fantastic. Okay? Thank you.”

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) patted Graham’s arm as the cameras focused on them.

Graham worked with Sen. Dick Durbin for nearly two decades to craft an immigration plan that both parties could agree to. The votes to pass it existed, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) refused to bring it up for a vote after Trump said he didn’t like it.

“If they stand to lose critical seats in Congress, in the Senate or in the House because this issue has become more difficult and more challenging, I think the White House will begrudgingly acknowledge that they have to do something,” Durbin said in 2018.

Trump said that Americans wouldn’t stand for not passing his bill and he would ultimately pass it after the 2020 election when he takes back the House of Representatives.

Spineless Lindsey Graham, the puppet of Trump. The only way he can stand or walk is when Trump pulls his strings. It is amazing that we can’t see the strings. Graham is just one part of Tump’s Senate main puppet duo. The other puppet is Mitch McConnell, that only crawls out of his shell to screw the American people when Trump pulls his string.

He called Trump a lot of bad names, but pretends it never happened. Graham is just prostituting himself to Trump so he can get reelected in South Carolina. Once he gets his 6 year renewal (very likely), he will lie and contort his statements after Trump leaves office. He worships power and money, like the rest of the GOP. He just wants to be another Mitch McConnell some day.

Graham and McConnell are on top of the list to beat. Donate money.

Nope. Lindsey is a bootlicking, groveling, power-hungry low-life. McConnell is in charge and doesn't need to grovel.

Lindsey has an easy reelection race. McConnell is the least popular Senator (worse than Ted Cruz!) now in state polls.

I was speaking of their character, and lack of soul.

Dumb Donnie Dunce pissed away his opportunity in his first two years, in the run up to the next election I see little compromise. We should have had a skills based immigration system long ago.

But we also need the semi-skilled and unskilled that are willing to work and better themselves. Think about how many immigrants came into the US between 1860 and 1930 tat would be considered unskilled today. Yet, these people and their descendants did a great deal to make the US better than before they arrived.
