Trump's buddy, Jeffrey Epstein, Indicted On Child Sex Trafficking Charge

1
Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was formally charged with the sex trafficking of minors on Monday in New York City.

Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York filed a 14-page grand jury indictment accusing Epstein of paying dozens of girls as young as 14 to engage in sex acts with him in his homes in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005. He “conspired with others” to sexually abuse and exploit the girls, and paid his victims to recruit others, court documents allege.

The billionaire financier was charged with child sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. Prosecutors said Monday they would recommend Epstein be jailed until his next court hearing.

U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said he considered Epstein a flight risk. “When you have two planes and live much of the year abroad, we think that’s a very real risk,” he told reporters.

Berman called on any victims of Epstein who hadn’t yet come forward to contact the FBI.

“The alleged behavior shocks the conscience,” U.S. Berman said at a news conference. “The sexual abuse of a minor can have devastating affects on the victims, often for years ... victims voices, including the victims of Epstein’s alleged victims, must be heard.”

Epstein, who escaped serious punishment on federal prostitution charges in 2008, was arrested over the weekend when his jet landed at a New Jersey airport. As part of the indictment, prosecutors said they intend to seize his Upper East Side mansion, where some of the abuses occurred. They scheduled a press conference for 11 a.m.

The indictment alleges Epstein engaged in a twisted ritual of abuse. He would have girls escorted to one of his homes, according to the document, where they would be forced to perform massages on him and engage in sexual behavior. He would then allegedly pay them hundreds of dollars.

“Epstein incentivized his victims to become recruiters by paying these victim recruiters hundreds of dollars for each girl that they brought to” him, the indictment states. “In so doing, Epstein maintained a steady supply of new victims to exploit.”

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to prostitution charges and registered as a sex offender in Florida as part of a sweetheart plea deal with U.S. attorneys in Miami. His sentence allowed work release and he received very little jail time.

Those federal prosecutors, working under then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta in Miami, broke the law by keeping that deal secret from victims, a federal judge ruled this year. Acosta now works as secretary of labor in President Donald Trump’s Cabinet.

The Miami Herald cast new light on Epstein’s abuses in a three-part expose in November, and identified 80 women who said he abused them. In court filings, the FBI identified more than 100 of his victims, according to the Herald.

The Miami Herald investigation revealed Epstein’s friendships, private meetings and other ties with famous people like former President Bill Clinton and Trump. Clinton often flew in Epstein’s private plane and visited his island, while Trump once described him as a “terrific guy.”

The 2008 plea deal helped to keep the names of any co-conspirators out of court documents.

The new indictment doesn’t name anyone alleged to have conspired with Epstein in the sex crimes. Separately, the Herald reported that there was no evidence Trump or Clinton were involved in Epstein’s crimes.

He was expected to appear in court Monday afternoon

We'll have to wait and see if Barr steps in on this case.

He has friends in high places such as Trump and it would not look good if he had the goods on all those that partied with him and the young girls.

I wonder what Alan Dershowitz is trying to hide.
On Monday, the Miami Herald reported that an attorney representing former Harvard Law Professor and high-powered defense lawyer Alan Dershowitz has written to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, requesting that the press be blocked from the child trafficking proceedings against billionaire wealth manager Jeffrey Epstein — a measure that, if it is successful, would once again hide the most crucial details of Epstein’s crimes from the general public.

Trump has never said a bad word about Epstein. Because all the circumstantial evidence points to Trump being also a pedophile as well, including his ownership of the Miss Teenage Universe and his penchant for walking into their dressing room when they were in various states of undress, even fully naked. He even joked about it. Then there are the multiple rape charges against Trump, including of a 13 year old.
And, when it came to being a billionaire, Epstein was the real deal while Trump is the fake. Epstein really is intelligent and well-educated. Trump is not intelligent, and as ignorant as if he was raised by wolves.

It's clear that in many ways, Epstein was the man Trump wanted to be, until he decided he wanted to be Vladimir Putin, about whom he's also never said a bad word.

I'd say the fix is already in.

Epstein, 66, was arrested Saturday night at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey aboard his private jet upon returning from Paris.

Later that evening, federal agents executing a search warrant of Epstein's mansion in New York City seized a "vast trove" of lewd photographs of young-looking women or girls, prosecutors said in a court filing.
So if there's a "vast trove" of photos, where are the child porn charges?

I am just guessing but I'm inferring from the charges filed that under the law pictures of naked children may be different than pictures of children engaged in sex acts.
OTOH, the charges are federal charges of trafficking.

I believe those will come soon. Photos were just discovered; give them some time to sort them and figure out whose who and all that.

Also anyone remember Louise Mesnch(sp?) That crazy conspiracy theorist or something who said that DJT would be taken down by a child sex trafficking ring??? She might not have been wrong.

You know, Trump always accuses his "enemies" of committing the crimes and acts he's actually committing himself.
Remember how the "PizzaGate" libel against Hillary Clinton was fomented that SHE was engaged in child sex trafficking, so much so that Flynn's son spread it around, and an idiot with a gun came to D.C. planning to "save the children"?

This is the guy who bragged about being able to leer at naked and partially naked children in the dressing room of the Miss Teenage Universe pageant because he "owned" the pageant.

Some of the nude and partly nude images were found inside a locked safe. There were also CDs with labels like “Girl pics nude.”

These were among the “vast trove” of images of young women, some of whom appeared to be underage, prosecutors said, that were found during a search of the Manhattan townhouse of Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier. A decade earlier, he had avoided federal prosecution on similar allegations that he had sexually exploited dozens of vulnerable minors.
Mr. Epstein, 66, has been accused for years in civil court cases and in police complaints of preying on girls at his New York City mansion and his Palm Beach, Fla., estate.
It might be an understatement to say that Mr. Epstein has rubbed elbows with rich and prominent people. His high-profile connections have included former President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew of Britain and Mr. Trump, among others.

In 2002, Mr. Trump told New York magazine that Mr. Epstein was a “terrific guy,” adding: “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” Even though Mr. Epstein made a deal in Florida in 2008, Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States attorney in Manhattan, said that his office was not bound by it.

If convicted, Mr. Epstein, who was arrested on Saturday, could face a combined maximum sentence of up to 45 years in prison.

Prosecutors are also looking for the forfeiture of his Upper East Side mansion, valued at $56 million, on East 71st Street. He is accused of abusing underage girls there.

Oops.
Weingarten said that according to the facts, Epstein did not rape anyone, but conceded that Epstein did engage in “maybe a lot of prostitution.”

That prompted Judge Pitman to interject and question Weingarten’s legal reasoning.

“Isn’t it rape if the girls are underage?” Pitman asked.

Weingarten paused for over a second, then in a matter-of-fact tone replied, “well…statutory maybe,” before moving on. The packed gallery responded with a combination of audible laughter and shocked gasps as Epstein’s attorney appeared to be admitting his client had committed rape.

Epstein’s defense went on to request a three-day stay on the proceeding to submit a bail proposal in writing, which Pitman granted.

Lawyer admits guilt of client. Client has every reason to flee, yet is granted a three day stay. Eris' observed fix is in--I think she's right.

On edit: double oops:
The parties were held at a New York City residence that was being used by Defendant Jeffrey Epstein. Each of the parties had other minor females and a number of guests of Mr. Epstein, including Defendant Donald Trump at four of the parties I attended. I understood that both Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein knew I was 13 years old.

Defendant Trump had sexual contact with me at four different parties in the summer of 1994. On the fourth and fnial sexual encounter with Defendant Trump, Defendant Trump tied me to a bed, exposed himself to me, and then proceeded to forcibly rape me. During the course of this savage sexual attack, I loudly pleaded with Defendant Trump to stop but he did not. Defendant Trump responded to my pleas by violently striking me in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted,

Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I wold be physically harmed if not killed.

Whether Bill engaged is irrelevant to the case against trump. The only trolly thing about this is that Bill is being hoisted by trolls as the squirrel to distract the numb ones, the ones who comprise that nebulous 41%. Fuck them. Arrest the scum--all of them. As I understand it, the statute of limitations favors the victims here, yes?

Bill Clinton released a detailed statement of every trip he took with Epstein and every meeting he had with him, including who was present and indicating that at every meeting his Secret Service team was present. It would be highly dangerous for him to lie about any of it. If none of it can be shown to be false, and that it's all true, Clinton's out of it.

But Trump is clearly in it up to his suety neck.

Sounds like there may be a lot of wealthy people up to their necks. Child sex trafficking is about as bad as it gets on my moral compass. I'm sure that, just like the Enron debacle and the housing/stock market implosion, nothing will happen with the possible exception of Epstein. This is the world we live in.

Exactly. I guess the thread title was what prompted my Clinton question/troll. I don't know shit about this case other than what I've gleaned here and there last night but it sounds like the willingness of rich male (and some female) assholes to forever ruin a child's life isn't limited to political affiliation. It would appear Epstein has far more "buddies" than just Trump. A global network like this focused on exploitation of young girls/women needs to be conducted sans politics to nail the appropriate peckers to the floor. Preferably with big rusty nails and for all the world to see.

When this story broke in the UK Trump was not even a blip on the radar. He wasn't even mentioned until 2016 or 2017. Even then very little of it was discussed. The whole thing reeks.
