So glad the GOP is so balanced budget concerned..not!

I know this event is somewhat of an anomaly, but it was foreseen a for the past 60+ days. Do we really need to bail out private companies whose strategy is to hope for the best then let the government bail it out with tax breaks?

Trump's administration desperately trying to keep a rosey picture before November..anybody remember promised 5-6+% GDP growth? Ha!

Only concerned with a balance budget when a Democrat is holding the office of President

The budget lie goes back to Reagan and Poppy Bush. St Ron CONSTANTLY harped on a "Balanced Budget Amendment" and "Line-Item Veto" for fiscal responsibility while he increased the deficit AND national debt more than it had ever been!
But when Clinton came in, all of sudden deficit spending was the biggest moral outrage since Judas betrayed Jesus!....until Dubya became POTUS and then it was "Reagan proved deficits don't matter!"
But when Obama came it...it was deficit hawks and "OMG the National Debt is out of control!!!!!" again.
But when Duh Furor came back in, Wash, Rinse, Repeat....biggest deficits ever!

It was a lie when Reagan said it 40 years ago, It's a lie now. It has always been a lie. It's what Republicans have done since Reagan took the party from centrist conservative, to hard, harsh, near-Birchite reactionary. He helped absorb the racist segregationists who lost their party home when LBJ brought the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Thurgood Marshall, etc. Many went with Wallace but by 1976 when Carter emerged Wallace was finished on the national scene.

And Reagan was right there, ready, willing, and able to scoop up the bigots, the racists, the emotion-driven "low-information" voters into the welcoming arms of the GOP. Is it any wonder that most of the dominant Republicans in both houses are racist Southerners who don't give a flying fuck about the Constitution or the Bill of Rights outside of 2A and 10A?

I think we have all noticed this by now. GOP hates on "Tax and Spend Democrats" while they cut taxes and spend more than Dems to increase the deficit. A Dem POTUS gets the economy running again, and the GOP raids the treasury for the oligarchs.

Every. Single. Time.

It is hard to believe they are on different teams. At least, I don't think anyone should believe that Ds and Rs are on different teams.

Trump almost upset the applecart. Bernie would upset the applecart. Biden will play along with the pro-business/anti-worker SCOTUS and the pro-business/anti-worker Congress, so I expect Biden to win the nomination for that reason alone.

And now Drumpf, Repugs and their cronies are potentially handing out socialism to the oligarchs in the oil industry, at all our expense.

You know, cause they aren't expected to plan for a rainy day like normal people and God forbid the economy is crap because that's Drumpf's crown jewel for re-election.

Trump's floating of a 0% payroll tax for the rest of the year didn't fly with Republican senators, many of them are up for reelection and saw the deficit increasing. While Trump is now talking about assistance for the oil shale industry, Democrats are talking about assistance for workers - which one will resonate more with voters?

And to the average worker, it sounds like a gift. Until they realize they still owe the tax on their returns in April 2021

Again, Republicans don't care about the deficit levels, only if a Democrat is President

Wait, so if I lose my job, I am expected to pay bills and eat beans or suffer the consequences for my "poor planning".

Banks and oil companies? No?

Heard a report that House Democrats will pass their COVID-19 bill by end of business today and send it to the Senate. It puts pressure on the Republican Senate and the WH to come up with their bill. The WH is pushing bailouts for the airlines, oil companies....

Yup, until after the election. Then he can use the leverage to extort bribes if he wins. Or, Mitch can use that leverage against a Dem POTUS.

No good outcome if GOP holds any part of the government.
