I hate the "ergos" of glocks. But the 80% glock lowers have a grip profile closer to a 1911.
Anyone build or shoot one of these?
Looking to maybe build something to pair with my Ruger PCC.
Re: Anybody build a glock?
2You’ll spend a lot to build an uninspiring pistol. For that much trouble and money, buy a used Glock and hack away at the grip with a dremel and some glue, and you’re way ahead.
Re: Anybody build a glock?
3You really think so? A used 26 goes for $400. Plus work to customize. I think I could build a new "glock" for about $650 with some nice features and super flashy colors (I'm thinking metalic blue frame and bronze slide).
Looking at some glock pics, it seems that Glocks are the Model A of guns...dead boring stock, but great bones to chop-up into a hot rod.

Re: Anybody build a glock?
4No matter what you do, it’s still a Glock. People built hot rods on model A bodies, not model A engines.
Re: Anybody build a glock?
6New rules on pistol builds make it near impossible. Have to submit three builds and have microstamping unless it's a single shot only.

Re: Anybody build a glock?
9Yep. Slap a ZEV Trigger on it perhaps. I would have already if my Glock wasn't the HD pistol.
Re: Anybody build a glock?
11Cool. A 17 frame or 19?
I’d be interested to hear how your project turns out and what your final price rounds out to be. I agree a “glock” with a PCC is an unbeatable combo. And I have no problems with the grip angle of a Glock and find I hit my targets surprisingly well with it given all the other aesthetic limitations inherent to tupperware.
Gen 3 lowers will take previous generations’ slide/barrels, not 4 & 5’s. And as Marlene said, this is just a serviceable Glock in the end... nothing to get all excited about.

12Got the lower. When I can scrape-up the $500 for the custom upper, I'll post a pic
Re: Anybody build a glock?
13Glock 19 Gen 4 and the Ruger PCC is a winning combination. Both run flawlessly with the most junk of ammunition and take the same mags.

14Not to hijack the thread, but I really like the look of that Ruger PCC model with the free float hand guard.

Re: Anybody build a glock?
15Yeah...I like the more traditional looks of the regular one. Mine sports a fiber optic front and I should be able to adorn it with some graphics prior to MITM.
Re: Anybody build a glock?
16bought an Apex trigger kit and a Rock Slide upper. Will post pics and range report when done.
Buying piecemeal was about as expensive as buying either a kit or a stock glock, but I'm getting custom options with little build time.

17What’s the tally so far? Is it completed?

It's Midwest Industries' version of an M-Lok handguard for the Ruger PC Carbine, and I think it looks pretty damn sweet. I've always been a fan of 8-sided M-Lok rails. I also ordered the charging handle and stock spacer with QD attachment points. I'll probably make a post once I get everything installed and put it through it's paces. Sorry to further hijack, haha.

24Woa... looks kinda cute.
Attach a 30rd stick-mag and the gun might appear an appendage to the magazine!
