Yup, it never hurts. Thanks for the pic Hiker, he's a gentle giant. A retired middle school English teacher.

And on top of his non-political videos, we all support the Gun Culture 2.0 statement on his site:
My concern about the future of the 2nd Amendment is that we are not opening the doors wide enough for everybody and making them feel welcome. By “everybody” I mean anybody who is honest, safe, supports the 2nd Amendment, and enjoys the shooting sports. Their political party preference, religious preference, gender, race, nationality, or sexual preference should not be factors. And, of course, it’s easy to say that none of these things ARE factors, until a prospective new shooter gets up the courage to venture out to a 2nd Amendment meeting or event and is surprised by all the praying and Democrat bashing. He doesn’t complain or say anything, of course; he just doesn’t come back to that or any other event, and he may even lose interest in pursuing the hobby. After all, the crusty old ill-tempered guy at his local gun shop seems to be cut from the same cloth.

I like Hickok45 and his videos, must be sweet to have your own , private outdoor range complete with a "Gong".
I love all his ammo he has when he shoots, it's in dog food and candy dishes, and he just grabs a handful and loads up a few magazines.
He's killed a lot of 2 liter soda battles and "smoked some pots".

highdesert: I had never read that on his site, it's good though. I tried saying something similar as a criticism of the NRA to my 70 year old neighbor from Tennessee and he looked at me like I had two heads, but I guess he still sees the NRA for what it used to be, not what it's become. That's why it bothers me a little that Hickok shills for them now. He's a smart enough guy, he has to know that they're little more than a dark money political slush fund at this point, and their current messaging is about as antithetical to his views as it gets, "socialist tears" and all that garbage.

If the NRA actually gave a damn about our 2A rights anymore, they would have reformed their image decades ago to be way more inclusive of minorities, LGBTQ, women, and people of various political persuasions. Not only would it help to disarm the "angry white guy with a gun" perception that many currently have of American gun culture, but it would help strip the political cover that gun grabbers currently enjoy among their blue constituencies.

I'm not sure if it was just a massive miscalculation by the NRA, or if their research told them that kind of divisive messaging is what's best for their fundraising, or if they really are just a bunch of racists/bigots/sexists/fascists using guns as a vehicle to rile up the base. Perhaps it's some combination of all of that.

Since Hickok's videos are "politics free" I always suspected that he hadn't drunk the winger wacko Kool-Aid and was reasonable. The NRA has become a rich old boys organization - a 76 member board of directors is stupid. The way money was thrown around and Ackerman McQueen's control, says they were more interested in staying in power than doing anything for gun owners. They didn't get national concealed carry passed into law, but it's obvious that they didn't care because they all made money from the tax cuts and that was more important to them.

The dude needs to be aware people like us are watching him. We, the liberals and libertarians are not happy with his bedding down with the NRA.
I'm going to post such on his reviews and I hope everyone here do the same. Send him a message that he took the wrong trail in the woods.
We sit in the mud... and reach for the stars.
