I heard or read somewhere that no new guns were being added to the roster but I just saw a video proving the opposite. Colt just added a couple of revolvers.

Re: New guns on the California roster
2No new semi autos. Smith has been adding revolvers without interruption for years.
Re: New guns on the California roster
3If a handgun does not require micro stamping, it is possible to be added. However, since revolvers are not the hot sellers and there isn't a lot of investment into something new with them, there isn't a lot of incentive to be adding new product to the catalog thus nothing new to the roster.Pomme wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 3:29 pm I heard or read somewhere that no new guns were being added to the roster but I just saw a video proving the opposite. Colt is obvious an exception reintroducing double action revolvers to their line.
it is still mostly true that more is dropping off the roster and with rare exception nothing is being added.
The handgun roster has zero to do with safety and everything to do with ending handgun sales in California. IF the true goal was safer handguns, the law would be written much differently.
Re: New guns on the California roster
4there were at least 2 "pistols" on the list shown, H&K usp9 and a franklin armory something in .223.
i'm retired. what's your excuse?
Re: New guns on the California roster
5The Franklin is a straight pull AR pistol, so not subject to the microstamping.lurker wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 4:49 pm there were at least 2 "pistols" on the list shown, H&K usp9 and a franklin armory something in .223.
Re: New guns on the California roster
6The most likely reason the HK got added was because it was a change in color of an existing rostered pistol. so it really doesn't count as "new".
