Million Dollar question??? Is there a list of Left friendly shops/brands/companies anywhere? Or a list of minority or women owned businesses? I’ve decided I want to try my absolute best to make sure my money is going to businesses who I feel deserve it when at all possible. I’m talking about everything we buy for this “hobby” of ours gun shops/firearms dealers obviously, but also ammo dealers, holster/belt makers, body armor, scopes, knifes, etc up to and including gun makers and silencer brands. And I know the last two are tall orders but I’d settle for companies that aren’t out blatantly endorsing Drumpf, or attacking BLM etc i.e. a suppressor maker in my state (WI), I won’t name names but sufficed to say I will absolutely not be giving them any of my business or cashing in their “trump” bucks. Now I realize that for some things, you just cannot get away from biting the bullet and supporting a company with your money that in turn supports the right wing politicians etc but we gotta start somewhere and that is here for me.
I’m also hoping to share a list like this with students once I become a certified instructor.
Re: Left friendly shops/brands/companies?
2There used to be a list on the LGC main site but it wasn’t super accurate and is long out of date. It was the search that first brought me to this place in 2009.
What I remember of it is that Academy Sports (do they still exist?) and LL Bean were two companies that sold guns and gun-related stuff who didn’t give big donations to right wing douchebags. There’s no Academy local to me and LLBean has a pretty limited range of gun stuff, but they do have some safes and I really like their waxed canvas gun cases.

4Buy Blue is probably the most often mentioned, but the Human Rights Campaign (gay related) also rates businesses. There are lists looking at liberal, conservative and 2A friendly businesses. Some use campaign contributions however some corporations divide their contributions and give equally to Democrats and Republicans so that might not be the best method.

One site listed businesses that are liberal which conservatives should boycott:

And two sites looked at 2A friendly businesses:

Just a random search, nothing scientific.

6Academy is a hometown store for me, and I go there a lot. I've never looked into their politics, but as a general sports and outdoors store they are hard to beat, though you won't find anything exotic there.

7Academy doesn't exist in CA. Big 5 Sporting looks close, they have some rifles and ammo but not handguns. Don't know about their politics, I should check with a former employee he worked for them.

8Might sound like a broken record but I will be filing for my FFL by the end of Q1 2018. I also can do good prices on Lee Precision and CMMG gear along with others.
www.olsentraining.com will be getting an update here at some point.

9I don't think you sound like a broken record, more like a broken turntable. You need to remind people more often or else we tend to forget.ErikO wrote:Might sound like a broken record but I will be filing for my FFL by the end of Q1 2018. 10I've come to the conclusion that you have to buy used and buy local. I really wanted to become a Taurus fan boy but lost the urge after they were implicated in selling guns to Yemeni arms traffickers.

Of course with the possibility of small arms manufacturing moving out fro under State Dept control, I may go back to the Manufacturing license.
