Well, I would not recommend buying a firearm from a mattress factory (reference to a spam posting currently above this post).
I have bought online from Bud's and MidWayUSA. Of the two, I slightly prefer MidWay, but Bud's is pretty good.
I also like to ask my LGS if they can order in a gun for me at a price that is on par with the online prices plus transfer fees, etc. In Las Vegas, Ventura Supply does a very good job of combining online and LGS.

I do not really mind price variations in the $20 or so range. But I hate to pay huge markups.

28I am guessing it is the "favorite online dealers" part of the OP that is drawing mattress spam here????

30I just made my first online firearm purchase: a C&R pistol from Gunbroker. I'll let you know how it goes.
In the past, before the new California ammo laws, I'd bought ammo from SG Ammo and been very pleased.

31I have bought from Buds and Gunbroker before. All things being equal, I'd rather buy from Buds if the price was the same or very close just because I'd rather deal with a larger company than a mom and pop should there be a problem.
I had a good experience ordering from Academy and picking it up in the store. That doesn't help if there is not one in the area though.

32I have bought almost no firearms I have from a LGS. Almost all online. Lots of different sellers.
Before I was burglarized, those were all bought in stores because online wasn't really a thing and that old AWB was around.
