Trump’s acting immigration chief faces backlash for his rewrite of the Statue of Liberty greeting

1
Acting Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli is under fresh fire on Tuesday after telling NPR in an interview that the famous words engraved on the U.S. Statue of Liberty—based on the poem by Emma Lazarus—should be re-cast with a qualifier when it comes to the kinds of people arriving at the nation’s shores seeking refuge or welcome.

“Give me your tired and your poor who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge,” Cuccinelli responded after being asked by NPR’s “Morning Edition” host Rachel Martin if the Lazarus poem, titled “The New Colossus,” remains part of the American ethos under the Trump administration.
Trump will have to have a talkin' too that boy because it was suppose to be, “Give me your tired and your poor WHITE PEOPLE who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge,”

Asked about Cuccinelli’s revision to the poem, the president railed against non-wealthy immigrants.

“I don’t think it’s fair to have the American tax payer … you know, it’s about America first,” the president said. “I don’t think it’s fair to have the American taxpayer pay for people to come into the United States,” he added. “I am tired of seeing our taxpayer pay for people to come into the country that immediately go onto welfare and various other things.”

Cuccinelli was more frightening than Miller because he is more knowledgeable and experienced at white supremacist governing. And, so, of course they put him in charge of immigration. I was actually pretty shocked at first, but realized it is all out in the open so why not hire Cuccinelli?

Why hide anything now?

Now he is saying he wasn’t talking about the poem, but answering a question. He also said the poem was only about European immigrants.

Who in the White House or in MoscowMitch's team or in Mulvaney's team isn't walking excrement? None of 'em. The way Ebola spreads among a population, Trumpism spread among Republicans all over the nation. Only a vanishing few (and they are rapidly vanishing) are immune to his corrupt infection.

He has "clarified" his remarks by claiming that the Emma Lazarus poem was only about European immigrants.
When asked what he thinks America stands for, Cuccinelli said that the poem was referencing immigrants coming from Europe.

"Of course that poem was referring back to people coming from Europe where they had class-based societies, where people were considered wretched if they weren't in the right class," he said.

"It was written one year, one year, after the first federal public charge rule was written that says 'any person unable to take care of himself without being a public charge' would be inadmissible," he continued.
So yes, he literally thinks that the only immigrants we should welcome are white immigrants.

Now we find out more about this douche
On Saturday, CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski reported that Ken Cuccinelli, President Donald Trump’s acting Director of Citizenship and Immigration Services, helped found a virulently anti-immigrant group called “State Legislators for Legal Immigration” in 2007.

The principle claim of State Legislators for Legal Immigration was that undocumented immigrants effectively were the same thing as an act of war by a foreign country, and should be responded to as such. The group blasted such immigrants as “invaders” responsible for “serious infectious diseases, drug running, gang violence, human trafficking, [and] terrorism.”

Cuccinelli, who previously served as the attorney general of Virginia and was the GOP nominee for governor in 2013, proudly cited his involvement with this group in his early runs for office, and parroted much of its rhetoric. In a speech in 2014, he suggested that then-Texas Gov. Rick Perry had the constitutional right to forge international treaties and exercise war powers because his state was being occupied by an invading force of immigrants:
