This is rich.
“As we have stated, Greenland is not for sale,” a spokesperson for the Danish government said on Friday. “We have noted, however, that during the Trump regime, pretty much everything in the United States, including its government, has most definitely been for sale.”

“Denmark would be interested in purchasing the United States in its entirety, with the exception of its government,” the spokesperson added. A key provision of the purchase offer, the spokesperson said, would be the relocation of Donald Trump to another country “to be determined,” with Russia and North Korea cited as possible destinations.

There, we disagree. This is easily one of his dumbest ideas, ever. Why the FUCK would Denmark want to cede Greenland? Despite DnieperDon's lies, it's a prosperous nation that doesn't need cash, and is not of a mind-set to sell its citizens to TrumpLand. Plus, as our grandmas used to tell our moms (or, for some of you, your great-grandmas to your grandmas) about not sleeping or living with a man before marriage: "Why should he buy the cow when he can get the milk for free?"

Then there's 2 other obvious reasons why Denmark would NOT want to sell Greenland and both come down to one word: Oil. Since Denmark is a signatory in good standing to the Paris Climate Agreement, it would necessarily want to prevent the USA, which withdrew, from access to its fossil fuels. The other, is should Denmark NEED to exploit them, it can.

And, the Danes, like most advanced nations, are not ruled by idiots and can recognize and idiot, like Trump, when they see one. They clearly know that he breaks, corrupts, and ruins EVERYTHING he touches. Everything and everyone. He cannot be trusted and virtually every European leader who isn't named "Orban" knows it! (Putin knows it but has Trump's balls in his pocket and can and will squeeze if needed).

Denmark has an uneasy relationship with Greenland. Greenlanders kind of resent being part of Denmark. That doesn't mean they want to be part of the US instead, of course, but I bet there are a handful people in both Denmark and Greenland who would support the sale just so the two countries could be unentangled from each other.

I agree, Greenland is a long way from Denmark, closer to Canada and the US. Historically the Scandanavian countries have had rocky relationships, at one period in history the crowns of Denmark, Sweden and Norway were united, but it didn't last. Greenland and the Danish Faroe Islands are not part of the EU, the Faroes are closer to Iceland. During WWII Greenland interacted more with North America than Europe, because Denmark was occupied by Nazis. Minus all the glaciers, it's still a huge chunk of land that Denmark couldn't defend so it would be up to NATO. We also defend Iceland, a NATO country that has no armed forces of its own. Canada has a territory, Nunavut right across Baffin Bay from Greenland that is is governed by natives. I doubt buying it was all Donnie's ideas, likely CIA reports and add some spin from the State Dept and Donnie finds something he might know something about, a real estate deal this time a huge one.

President Donald Trump vowed on Monday that he would not build a Trump Tower Greenland.

A photoshoped picture of a Trump town in a Greenland villiage has been making the rounds on the internet.

Trump tweeted out the picture on Monday.

“I promise not to do this to Greenland!” Trump claimed.

Trump also famously claimed he was not working on a Trump Tower Moscow deal, when in fact that was a lie.

But Trump’s most famous lie is likely his claim that Mexico would pay for his border wall.

He said he won’t so you know he would.

He must be serious. He cancelled a meeting with Denmark's Prime Minister because she wont consider selling Greenland.
President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday that he’s canceling a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen after finding out she thinks his proposal to buy Greenland is “absurd.”

Trump is scheduled to visit Denmark, which maintains Greenland as an autonomous territory, in two weeks. But since Frederiksen has “no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland,” he wrote, he’s postponing his meeting with her.

I wonder if he is going to try and make an offer they can’t refuse.

What did Donnie expect the Danish PM to say - sure we want to do a deal with you over Greenland? They're pissed that he pulled his trip, but it's typical Donnie. He got the media talking about something else and not his fucked up China tariffs or signs of a recession. The media is backing off gun control so universal background checks are off the table for now.

Seeing as Thule is a key part of NORAD's early warning system I don't think it's likely at all.
I completely agree, NORAD and the DEW line serves all of North America including Greenland.

I wouldn't surprise me if he did close Thule. Doing it too spite the Dames. He lives in a little mind world where people that disagree with him are scorned, belittled and acted on in spite without thinking of the consiquences. He is the little bully you hated and feared on the playground when you were four.

Closing Thule will get him a pat on the head and a attaboy instead of an awe shit from the master, Vladimir Putin.

Donnie drama, one of the many things I won't miss about him when the door hits him in the ass. Surprised he didn't also call her a socialist - she does head the Social Democratic Party, but center right parties were first to reject him not the PM.

Is it any wonder he's defensive and abusive?
