Never owned (but have operated a few) shotguns in my life. While checking out Sportsman's Guide - a MN based company - website, I stumbled on the Dickinson Commando XX3B-2 Pump action with a 18.5" barrel.
Seems like a good home defense weapon and a step up from the Hi-Point that currently serves in that role.

I had a $20 coupon that knocked it back to 123.99 shipped to my FFL.
YouTube reviews were favorable..
Will report when receive and try. Did order some less than lethal ammo for home use, as we live in town...

2Don't use rubber balls or whatever.
Better ammo available than that exists. Paul Harrell and others have some good suggestions.

I did buy some Lightfield rubber "less lethal" rounds. Also picked up two boxes of Nobel Sports ammo from SG. One is a #4 shot, the other a multi-shot.
Re: Turkish Delight? Dickinson Commando XX3B-2
6Be aware that Paul Harrell seems to be alone in the opinion that birdshot is acceptable for home defense. I am a fan, but every other source says birdshot doesn’t reliably penetrate adequately
Re: Turkish Delight? Dickinson Commando XX3B-2
7I am a fan too. Birdshot is pretty adequate. #4 should be plenty.bajajoaquin wrote:Be aware that Paul Harrell seems to be alone in the opinion that birdshot is acceptable for home defense. I am a fan, but every other source says birdshot doesn’t reliably penetrate adequately

8He recently had a video out about that. Conclusively did NOT say bird shot was for home defense. I am a fan and a shotgun owner, so I did pay attention.bajajoaquin wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2019 9:31 pm Be aware that Paul Harrell seems to be alone in the opinion that birdshot is acceptable for home defense. 16OMG. That is a hellavu price for a pump-shotgun. Turkish firearms are generally good quality and very reliable.
This gun seems patterned off the Remington 870.

17Ammo was delivered today. Shotgun at the FFL. Takes a day for them to enter into their system and do that. Hoping to pick up before the blizzard on Friday.

20Ran out to the FFL after work and before the blizzard moved in for tonight.
Shotty comes in a nice plastic case. The firearm itself is covered in the shipping grease and then wrapped in a plastic bag. A very basic user manual in the box.
I have very little previous shotgun experience, and this firearm looks nice for 100 bucks. Action is not the smoothest, but works. I did dry-fire it once, and trigger while smooth seemed heavy. Standard crossbolt safety.
Front sight while prominent while need some fluorescent paint or something.
Some pics for y'all to feast you eyes on.

22Looks fantastic. Comes with a case!!! Actually a shotgun kinda precludes the need for sights. They’re just decorative.
