Today I got what should be my last handgun. It's not for me but for my son, who, stuck in California, cannot buy an off-the-roster gun but can be gifted one, as long as it's compliant with CA's handgun laws--and yes, it does not have to be on the roster to be compliant.
It's a Sig P320 X full-size in 9mm--here's a stock picture of it:

I like the trigger better than the "voluntary upgrade" one on my RX Compact, which is pretty good.
But the funny thing is: The grip is a medium size Carry grip and you can see in the picture the slide extends beyond the grip. I actually exchanged it for my large Carry grip (in ugly green) and it's the same! How odd! I would think Sig wouldn't have used the same grip as the Carry. So with just 2 grips and 2 slides you can have 3 different sized guns: Full, Carry, and Compact!
Unfortunately it was supposed to come with 2 10 round mags but the seller fucked up and sold the one with the 10s so he shipped the 17s and I had to have the FFL mod them--don't like the mod--it's a slit and a dent in the mag, but, it's (technically) permanent and, so CA compliant.
Meanwhile, it will be a "Safe Queen" until he gets everything in place to legally own it in Cali including a home safe.
