Looking at the collective term of the Supreme Court, the justices have slowly eroded the power of the executive and legislative branches of government, according to CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.
https://www.rawstory.com/supreme-court- ... authority/Talking about the cases, Toobin explained, "conservatives [have] been so successful in the Supreme Court this term and for a generation have been pushing on these issues. And one of their great causes has been to limit the power of the federal government. Especially the administrative agencies."
The Constitution documents the separation of powers between the three branches of government, which were supposed to be equal in power. As the court strikes down laws passed by Congress, or the power of federal agencies to regulate corporations the question becomes if the Court is creating an imbalance in the equality of power.
The SCOTUS has done more in this last term to reach the Repugs goal set forth by Grover Norquist back during the reign of Ronnie Raygun the First
It is up to the US Congress to continue the fight to not shrink all the government except for what lining the pockets of the wealthy. The final goal of the Rightwing Repugs is a return to the Gilded Age. Where the government was too small to stick its nose into places it didn't belong, pollution, employee safety, healthcare, wage and price controls, employee rights, civil rights, etc. etc.My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.- Grover Norquist
