Concealed carry applications spike 600% in Philadelphia amid crime surge: 'People are scared'
There will be bad, 'unintended consequences'...people getting shot at BBQs, 'look at my new gun...'...BUT, can't trust the LEO, can't even rely on them to show up.
PLUS, lots of weirdos and wackos out there with lots of guns...which speaks to the ease at which you can buy a gun these days, even in bluer than blue CO...
Not surprised people are buying guns for self protection...but 'unintended consequences'....

Not surprising, there have been a lot of car thefts and carjacking's in the news in the Philly area and people are afraid. One of the high profile cases was the Democratic congresswoman whose car was boosted while she was at a campaign event.

A May 2022 Philadelphia Inquirer article:
Gun sales and permits surged during the pandemic in Philly and Pennsylvania
In the city, the number of licenses issued in 2021 spiked by more than 600%, with 52,230 new carry permits. The year before: 7,444, according to an Inquirer analysis.
Statewide, gun sales surged in 2020 by 49% over the prior year, with a total of 1,141,413 firearms reported as either lawfully purchased or privately transferred, according to data from the Pennsylvania State Police. Licensed firearm dealers accounted for the vast majority of those transactions.

Hope they make training available.
I'll bet the vast majority of the 'noobs' don't even know the 2A even existed and if they DO, won't be sure what it really says. These 'noobs' are scared..so off to the LGS with their clean record and CC.
Training? YGBSM...buy gun, 'maybe' shoot it once or twice, put in drawer...
