Gun Porn Thread

Lets start a thread of some of our shooting irons. I don't have alot of photos and will try to get more but here are a few of mine:

Image

Winchester m94 450 Marlin next to some year old Grizzly Scat

Image

My old Win. m70 Safari Grade .458 Mag. I used to pack this shooter everywhere when I lived in Nebraska. The most dangerous game I ever killed with it was this badger that kept digging holes in the ditch. I also carried it when I came to Idaho to visit family. It was a great berry picking rifle. I had to sell it when I fell on hard times. Taken in 93.

Image

My old Model 700 Remington Classic .270 Win. Photo taken back in 84 when I lived in Idaho the first time. I'm taking aim at a distant fury target of some sort...probably a rock chuck.

Image

My wife in 93...the year after we were married, I bought her this Browning BLR .308. She used it to take her first deer, a decent Nebraska Mulie.

Image

My Dad, back in 86. We were in Idaho's Selway Wilderness hunting elk. He is packing a Remington Pump 30-06.

Image

Ruger m77 Carbine 30-06. It was a good tree stand gun for whitetails, like this Nebraska Whitetail I took in 93.

Image

My Father in Law and I (I am on the left) with Nebraska turkeys. The shot gun is a Remington 870 12 ga, all camo taped up. I have had the gun since I was 14.

Image

My old Custom Built Ruger Superblack Hawk 45 Colt...built by John Linebaugh of Cody, Wy. The gun is next to my fly rod....and a pile of fresh grizzly scat. Taken Last Fall in Easter Idaho.

Image

The Linebaugh built 45 Colt Ruger and my Charter Arms Bulldog 44 Special

Image

1985, Eastern Idaho, I was hunting black bears in May. The rifle is my m700 270. My favorite load back then was a 130gr Nosler Partition over a case full of H4831....just like Jack O Conner used to do.

OK, I showed you some of mine, let s see some of yours.....

DCG, you have a lot of good pix!

The composition of my picture sucks (I'm famous around here for not having a real camera) but I was just fondling Jack last night. I think this might be my favorite gun because it fills an unneeded niche.

I don't like to think of my self as an artist so much as someone who stares at empty spaces and imagines s--t.

The belt is from a Russian friend He was Soviet Airborne. We met in Sverdlovsk

.45 Colt by EMF of Italy. High Standard grips and the shamrock I had because I'm Irish and it's a requirement.
Bought it from the guy who supplied the guns for the movie Tombstone. He had a hill outside his house so you could shoot before you bought. He was early into the cowboy action thang.
I Had it on consignment twice because I couldn't hit a beer can.
Finally tried a paper target, missed entirely. Lowered the sight until it was level with the back "V" and the barrel looked like it was pointing down. Then it hit where I aimed. It's a keeper.

Favorite is GP100 The doubla action may be TOO light but so far no light strikes.

I like how the firing pins are ALWAYS touching the rounds. Good for pocket carry. Just make sure it's not YOUR pocket.
I think Comedian has one too.

8-shot 22. Forever revolver.

No longer have AR. We have SP101 3" .357 and LCR .22 instead. Still have guitar.

Still have Dog and Hat No longer have the 40 acres and the Mini-14.

Stay safe man.

We'll be waiting.
BTW, here's my prettiest rifle- a Marlin .17 HMR.
Saving up for a sexier scope.
That looks nice comedian, how does it shoot at 100 yards?

If it isn't too windy, I can take out a groundhog's eye at 100 yards.

My throw down guns.
Davis .380 blow back POS
Charter 44special, first gen, factory-bobbed hammer, garage-bobbed barrel to 2", grips off a 38 to up the Insane Scale to 9.25
Taurus PT.22 tip-up barrel, come-loose slide
New England Firearm model 922, 9 rounds of .22. The best accuracy is had by placing the barrel on the target.

I'm a fan of snubs but have these two long barrels. Ruger 44 mag and Cimarron in .357. Both are some serious pieces of metal and can be used to hammer down fence posts in a pinch.

I never can seem to get the pictures the right size, so bear with me.

This is the oldest pistol I own; a Colt Police Positive Target .22.
The serial # dates it to 1910, but it was re-barrelled and re-blued sometime after 1926.
No value to a collector, but I bought it to shoot, and it's fun to shoot.
Image

Next oldest is a Colt Pocket Hammerless .32.
Serial # dates it to ~ 1911.
It's had a long hard life and not of much interest to a collector, but great fun to shoot.
Image

This Ruger Single Six has a lot of character. Dates to about 1973 or 74. It was a rescue.
Image

This GP100 is here just 'cause I think it's purdy, even with the old Uncle Mike's grips. I've had it about 20 years.
Image

I like the looks of this little Rock Island .45, but it's not real ergonomic for a lefty. We'll see. I traded into it the first of this year.
Image

My bedside gun, and the reason I've been able to resist buying any other big 9mms.
(I have another 9mm, just not a big one.) This is the best semi-auto I've ever owned.

Well, I don't have time to fool with this post anymore. So there you have it.

did I ever mention how epic that pic was?

I guess you could call this the "Cinemax of Gun Porn" as it's missing the good bits... The full Monty will be here by the weekend.
I have a dog, a gun, and a shovel. The dog ain't good for much, but the gun and the shovel? Let's just see where this goes.
