Now that our state legislature knows it can freely pass impossible-to-comply-with laws, this should open the door to all sorts of ventures that can be blessed or ignored by our state court. Of course, we can't convict anyone of violating an impossible-law but we can now fill the books with them anyway. These could be "protest laws" to reflect our legislators' disdain for just about anything they don't particularly like. It doesn't help up us very much, unfortunately, since importing an off-list handgun into Cali will still get you time in the slammer even when the approved list drops to zero.

Make regulations impossible to comply with? Just a blatant attempt to stop gun sales. How many gun makers are going to go through this expensive hassle?

Well, legally speaking this case simply sounds absolutely ripe for appeal to the 9th Circuit...

Any news on that?

Next stop is the supreme court if its being appealed from a state supreme court. I believe that the supreme court is unlikely to take the case given its recent history. Who knows what will happen.

This law and the lack of the ability to implement it has become a Catch-22. With the results if forced to implement it the results wound be no new semi auto guns in California except to Law Enforcement.
I can see the roster guns getting smaller each year till nothing is left.
