Blog “Guns Are Bad”

#1 Post by BlogBot » Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:49 pm

Quote from opening statement by Jonathan Metzl, organizer of a session on “Gun’s and Violence in Trump’s America” at annual meeting of the American Sociological Association in Philadelphia. Sometimes social scientists studying guns (accidentally?) say what they really think. Image

They can be...especially if you're at the wrong end and someone's firing it at you!

So what? Sometimes social scientists are bad.
Is ignorance bliss? NO! It's suffering. Suffering ends when ignorance ends.

Guns are inanimate objects. It seems hard to assign motive, just like opiates. They are neither good nor bad, it is how the user employs them. Pain control? Good. Addiction? Bad. Same substance, different user application determines good v bad.
