Even-Handed Justice Match #2 Results

#1 Post by Bucolic » Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:27 am

The second one-handed match closed yesterday. Participation was down, no doubt in part to the winter weather. I never got the opportunity to shoot it since my only option is an outdoor range. In spite of the reduced number of shooters, we had some good scores turned in. Here they are:

Rimfire, Strong Hand - We nearly had a draw with the top two shooters separated by one point.
Winner - leitmotiv 275 - Ruger Mk III Target
Runner Up - Bacchus 274 - Ruger Mk III Target
Honorable Mention - Buck13, Panama Yellow, Eris, and Merle. Good shooting, all!

Rimfire, Weak Hand
Winner - Buck13 263 - Ruger Mk III Target
Runner Up - Bacchus 259 - Ruger Mk III Target
Honorable Mention - Merle

No doubt, the Ruger Mk IIIs ruled this match.

Centerfire, Strong Hand
Winner - Bacchus 287!!! - Glock G17
Runner Up - Buck13 248 - Dan Wesson Pointman
Honorable Mention - leitmotiv, Panama Yellow, Merle, and Eris

Centerfire, Weak Hand
Winner - Bacchus 281 - Glock G17
Runner Up - Buck13 222 - Dan Wesson Pointman
Honorable Mention - Eris - Ruger SR1911

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all the shooters. A special call-out to Bacchus for kicking a lot of butts.

I think it's almost time to announce a new regular Bullseye Match. Stay tuned in the coming weeks but the rules will be as usual if anyone wants to get a head start. PDFs of our draft Bullseye Match targets are available in a stickie in this sub-forum.

Cheers,
Bucolic

Yeah, I think winter matches are not the best idea.

Sooner or later I'm'a gonna git my schedule squared away so's to give y'all some competition. Good shooting it appears. Tough to beat.

Woot! Congratulations to all entrants! The weather was tough this time around. Hopefully attendance will pick up as the weather warms.

Good on ya, all!
No doubt, the Ruger Mk IIIs ruled this match.
Just to pick nits, all my Ruger .22s are MkIIs, but what's a single I among friends? :D

This was fun, but I hope a return to two-hand stance will increase participation. Any reason not to hold EHJ matches (with a long deadline) concurrently with our standard rules (on a different deadline schedule)?

Oops. Sorry. I’ll fix that.

No reason not to run them concurrently. I plan to start a new bullseye match as soon as I get done with my taxes, I’m a week or two. I am currently crippled by procrastination.

Ian always plagued by indecision as to how long to run these matches. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would suggest staggering concurrent matches so they don't all end at the same time.

Good point, Eris. How long do you think they should run, 3 months?

I actually would like to see shorter contests, and more of them.

I'm with Eris on this one- would prefer more matches with perhaps shorter deadlines. I recognize that's more work for you, though. I'm not sure a longer deadline brings in more participation; I figure folks are going to shoot the match, or not. I'd be fine with a two month time span, or even shorter.

Good luck with your taxes. :)

Me too. I may not be able to shoot every one, but deadlines help. I"ll shoot as many as I can. :yahoo:

I’ll start a new bullseye match circa April 1st. Maybe a six week duration overlapping a six week one-handed match.

Things have kept me out of the range mostly over the winter, but now I belong to 3 clubs/ranges  : my local indoor range, a club in Wilmington (DE) where I take part in a weekly 300-match, and an outdoor range that up to now had me on a waiting list.

I guess that means no more excuses.

I'm ready to get back in the saddle. We had a rougher than usual winter and my range is outdoors.
