Starts Tuesday July 27.

Now, this is pure speculation, mind you.

Don't have access to live feed, so I'll have to catch up tonight. But I did see that before the hearings, McCarthy doubled down, blaming Pelosi for not defending the Capitol better.

And there it is. I was wondering which lie was going to be offered to the faithful to repeat and drown out the facts. This is as good as any. It'll be effective.

I can't see the hearings, so I hope there's something reality affirming going on there. I'm not holding my breath.

Please let me be wrong. Please let me be wrong. Please ...

The spin doctors of both parties will be all over the airways tonight and over the next week and media interviews of members of the select committee and the four officers who testified today. Fanone has been interviewed by the media before, not sure about the others. I don't see that the committee has scheduled any more public hearings at this time, but there will be more.

It was gut wrenching. All roads lead to orange bag of pus. I don't see how anyone can spin this box of doo doo and make it smell like roses.

My thoughts. I think it will be fun to watch the spin. I'm sure there will be more hearings. There's got to be more video also.

For me there is still the open question of collusion from lawmakers. That question hasn't been answered, and I won't be happy if this panel doesn't definitively answer that one.

I'm confident they will implicate sitting members of congress - whether they are ever punished remains to be seen. They need to subpoena Trump now cause you know he will fight having to appear until the end of time (his time I hope is soon) along with the rest of the speakers at "the" rally 1/6 and Ivanka, whom supposedly tried to get father to end the insurrection (if you believe that shit - I have some peyote buttons for you). LOL

Hopefully, Pelosi drags this out all the way to 2024 waiting for turd to testify. I still believe repubs will rue the day they refused a 911 style panel to investigate. Use 1/6 as a cudgel to beat them on head daily for 42 months.

I'm not able to watch the live stream, but my YouTube feed is chock full of updates from numerous news sources. Fanone's comments were almost as hard to hear as they were for him to say. The man went through a hell of a lot--as did many others.

Someone shared a quip with me: "No wonder people in other countries don't want tourists from the US, if the insurrection was "just tourists.""
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

I with you on that.

I don't expect to find anything approaching happiness on that score, even if their collusion is punished.

I see one week of hearings, three weeks of normal business and subpoenas, then a week of hearings, three weeks of business and subpoenas--until 2024. Glad I bought shares in US popcorn growers.

But of course the real truth will be buried by the right wing true believers and their so called news networks.
Newsmax cuts away from Officer Fanone's testimony and airs guest blaming 'BLM and antifa' for Capitol riot

While airing D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone's emotional testimony at the first House committee hearing to investigate the Capitol insurrection this Tuesday, the right-wing pro-Trump network Newsmax cut away to a guest who disparaged Fanone's testimony, claiming that the attack on the U.S. Capitol was actually carried out by left-wing factions.

Fanone, who was tased, beaten and stripped of his badge, said lawmakers who deny the violence of Jan. 6 are "betray[ing] their oath of office."

But as Fanone spoke, Newsmax cut to former Texas state legislator Rick Green, who said that it's nice to "finally hear Democrats say nice things about police officers."

"If this was a real investigation, we'd be asking ... who gave the stand down order? Why were there not enough police officers there? And, I gotta say, one of the officers said, you know, 'Donald Trump was egging [the mob] on instead of sending help' -- Donald Trump wanted more military presence there and more police officers there, and it was turned down, so why did Nancy Pelosi allow this situation to happen in the first place?"

"And why are we not asking the questions about all the video that we've seen of the Capitol police officers literally removing the barricades and inviting people into the Capitol?" he continued. "What they're after here is to take the ones that should be in jail for the violence and attacking police officers, taking those few, and trying to make it look like anybody that supported Donald Trump was a part of that. In fact, that was FBI informants, antifa, BLM, very radical anti-Trump people, we already know that, who were involved in this."

Newsmax host rages after his bizarre conspiracy theory gets shut down at Capitol riot hearing

DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone shut down a right-wing conspiracy theory about what happened to him on January 6th during testimony before the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.

"Forgive me for these questions, but I've got to ask you," Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said.

"Apparently in some nether regions of the internet it's being said that you, Officer Fanone, were mistaken for antifa and that's why you were nearly beaten to death that day and carried into the crowd," Raskin noted.

The conspiracy theory has been pushed by Newsmax personality Greg Kelly.

The tweet came seven minutes after Kelly noted Fanone was wearing his uniform when he responded to the Capitol, something the plainclothes officer had not done in a decade.

First time in a decade he put on a uniform and just showed up. This haphazard response is PART OF THE PROBLEM.

"Is there any way that you were mistaken for antifa?" Raskin asked Fanone.

"Well, I was in full uniform. I was -- like I said, wearing my uniform shirt adorned with the Metropolitan Police Department's patch," he explained. "I had my badge on until someone ripped it off my chest. I do not believe I was mistaken for a member of antifa."

Kelly later tweeted: "None of these cops can be trusted with weapons. Resign."

There are a LOT of people I would love to see testify under oath. Trump of course, but we all know that will never happen. But McCarthy, General Charles Flynn, General Milley, Pence, Jared, Jeffrey Clark, Kellyanne Conway...

Let's get people under oath, so they can cut their own throats.

Ole Rudy and Flynn were making the most criminal statements at the rally right before the insurrection. I'd like to see those two testifying next. Then they should be cuffed and escorted to jail.
