In 45-70.
Like the sights.
"Adjustable Skinner Sights™ receiver-mounted peep sight is perfect for rapid target acquisition."

A friend of mine has one of those.

Very nice, well built, light, and a PAST recoil pad is advised.

Might be interesting if it came with a 28” barrel.

Hmm, “rapid target acquisition” with a 45-70? Jeebus.
Anyone still needing to shoot buffaloes from a moving train or sumthin?

I shoot better with a long sight radius. I wouldn’t want to shoot clays with a 16” barrel shotgun either.

Marlin is owned by Ruger and Ruger is known for large caliber guns.

I'm totally glad about the quality of these--I have Marlins and Rugers and can confirm the quality is high. The short barrel here is designed for quick action in the woods: "Trapper." Sure, it would be more accurate with a longer barrel and sight radius. The short one is quicker. At home, I'm sure lookin' at the business end of one of those would be like peering down a train tunnel to Hell.

Then that would be the first one Ruger/Marlin came out with, 1895 SBR with a 19 inch barrel.

I like the straight walled ammo. Not sure why but it appeals to me. If I ever run into one on the shelf it's going to be really hard not to grab it.

Yes. Ruger pistols may be cheaper than other gun manufacturers, but they don't scrimp on quality.

If I lived in moose or grizzly country, I would definitely get one.

Standing by for the .454/.45 colt version… for those of us east of the mighty Mississippi, .45-70 is too beaucoup.

If I had an extra $3K in my pocket (so that I could buy a few dozen rounds of ammo), I might could justify having one...

My shoulder could prolly handle 5 shots but it would be fun!
Plus one would look awesome next to my other two lever guns.

Not as bad as 458 Win Mag.

.577 Rigby is in another world altogether.

Did you all see how good Hickock45 is with that .45-70? That video above compares the Remington version and the Marlin version.

Yeah, and I can't believe the round went straight through that little clay pot without obliterating it.
Personally I want one in .405 Win. Not sure there's all that much difference between a .405 or a 45-70.

That amazed him, too. Maybe there was dirt in there. I have a .45-70 I built from a defunct Siamese Mauser. Thing is for T-rex.

Last time I took out the Siamese Mauser .45-70. I'm gonna stay away from the 500 grainers.
