Division 80 LLC v. Garland

This is directly related to the following thread:
ATF 2021R-05: "Definition of 'Frame or Receiver' and Identification of Firearms"

Here is the final rule itself in the Federal Register:

Enforcement of this new rule would put Division 80 out of business.

Division 80 filed for a preliminary injunction, which they probably won't get. The rule goes into effect on 8/24.

in arguments related thereto, the ATF stated that their rule does not regulate standalone non-receivers but rather only those sold with jigs, bits, etc, per ATF 2021R-05. But the ATF also has made it clear they would go after standalone non-receivers and were going to go beyond what they specified in ATF 2021R-05. So what is actually going to happen remains unclear.
