The builder used an Ohio Rapid Fire receiver for the specs for the reweld. Always good to see a ruined receiver brought back into use.

2I seem to recall someone here in CA chapter did a VZ58 build on a rewelded receiver. Had some challenges getting the action to cycle reliably as I recall. Was it CDFingers?
