Greatings from The Show Me State!

Hello! I'm a liberal firearms owner (S&W .357, Colt Gold Cup, Challenger III .22 LR, Marlin 30-30 among others) from Missouri. Most of my experience comes from target practice as a kid and I'm looking to augment that with knowledge while adding a few pieces to my collection. In general, I'm hoping for training, advice, and (to be honest) some conversation with like-minded folks. I have a background in data science and economics if that might be helpful to what we do here.

:welcome: from a sort-of big city in Kentucky, regrettably the home of Moscow Mitch and Ran(ci)d Paul.

We got one of my two Basset Hounds from a breeder in the tiny town of Tunas, Missouri. I had a cousin who lived in Springfield for several years, and I've been to St. Louis a few times for giggles (The City Museum is MARVELOUS).
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Greetings from northern California where your almonds come from. I have a mid 60's Marlin 336 in .30-30. It's a fine rifle shooting a very effective round. And a .357 handgun is a fine defensive weapon. Good to see you here.

Can't talk to you without talking to me. We're guilty of the same old things.

Welcome to the community! It's great to have a liberal firearms owner like yourself on board. Your background in data science and economics can definitely be an asset here. We're happy to help you augment your knowledge and collection.

For training, I'd recommend checking out some online resources like the NRA's Online Training Program or the USCCA's (United States Concealed Carry Association) online courses. They offer a range of courses from basic firearms safety to more advanced defensive shooting techniques.
