The ban is a provision of the sensitive places ban, S51001, passed in retaliation for Bruen.
On July 1, 2022, New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed S51001 into law, amending New York’s gun laws, which among other things, implemented an expansive new ban on areas where a person could lawfully carry a handgun – many of which were previously unregulated.

Some of those areas included, among others, public parks, public transportation, and private property where the owner or lessee has not posted that the carrying of arms is permissible. The law made carrying a firearm in these designated areas a felony offense.

The Erie County (Buffalo) DA will appeal this to the 2nd Circuit of the US Court of Appeals located in New York City. The NY law which was revenge for the Bruen decision has similar restrictions to California's SB 2 which was passed post-Bruen and similar restrictions in other states. This case could end up at SCOTUS, especially since the Second Amendment Foundation and the Firearms Policy Coalition are involved.

They're going to have to hammer out how far into one's life the .gov can reach. With women, we see the .gov can reach right in and grab them by their persons. Let's see if ultimately guns end up with more rights than women.

Absolutely.
Some women in threatened groups already do, more women should. A right wing fanatic is less likely to question which bathroom an armed woman uses.
